Walk of Glory

Аллея славы

The grand opening of the "Walk of Fame" in Krasnodar took place on September 30, 2012. The event was timed to coincide with the 200th anniversary of Russia's victory in the Patriotic War of 1812. The alley is located on the territory of the Mariinsky park and begins with a monument to Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, which appeared much earlier than the alley itself. The bronze sculpture was installed on November 24, 2004, on the 275th birthday of the great commander, who managed to annex the Kuban to Russia once and for all. The place of its installation was not chosen by chance. It was here that one of the fortifications of the Suvorov cordon line was located, so it is quite possible that Alexander Vasilyevich directly from this place directed the construction of fortifications. Thus, the monument is a kind of personification of the history of Krasnodar.

On the opening day of the "Walk of Fame", the busts of military leaders and statesmen G.A. Potemkina, I.V. Gudovich, M.I. Kutuzov, P.I. Bagration, N.N. Raevsky, F.F. Ushakova, A.P. Ermolova, M.B. Barclay de Tolly, D.V. Davydova, M.S. Vorontsov. The initiators of the creation of this alley were the Krasnodar regional branch of the All-Russian public organization of veterans "Combat Brotherhood" and the patriotic charitable foundation "Martial Deed".

The Walk of Fame quickly became one of the most popular tourist attractions in Krasnodar. A good tradition has developed in the city for celebrities who have visited the capital of the Kuban to leave a star trail on the "Walk of Fame". During excursions around Krasnodar, many tourists strive to touch the personalized stars of the singer MakSim, figure skaters Tatyana Navka and Ilya Averbukh and other celebrities.
