The museum was opened in 1994 in memory of the landscape painter, whose life for many years was closely connected with the city of Tuapse and whose name is the most beautiful rock above the sea in the vicinity of the city.

Kiselev showed in his paintings the beauty of these places, the artist glorified Tuapse, he dedicated works to him: "Mountain Road" (1910), "Quiet Water" (1900), "Night at Sea" (1900), " Black Sea Coast of the Caucasus "(1900)," Kadosh Rocks "(1902).

During his life, Alexander Alexandrovich created about 800 paintings, his works are kept in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, in many art museums in the country. The house-museum is located in the former city dacha of the Kiselev family, where the artist lived from 1906 to 1911. The stationary exposition presents original photographs, paintings, personal belongings of the artist. The exposition contains materials and paintings by the artist's son, Nikolai Aleksandrovich Kiselyov. Many original materials and paintings were given to Tuapse by the artist's grandson Sergei Vladimirovich Kiselyov.
