In the historical center of the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka, the resort town of Gelendzhik, there is one of the amazing monuments of church architecture of the early twentieth century - an Orthodox church in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

During the construction of the temple, Father Nikolai Smirnov was appointed a priest of the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka. The exact date of his appointment has not been set. It was Father Nikolai who consecrated the newly built stone church.

In Soviet times, the temple was closed, the bell tower was destroyed. The building has been adapted for a shop.

In 1992, the building was returned to the diocese. Priest Vasily Pluzhnikov was appointed rector of the church. Work was carried out to restore and restore the temple. The project of this restoration with the completion of the bell tower above the western aisle was carried out by Gelendzhik architect I. Morgunov and engineer I. Golovkin.

The central dome was restored, 4 additional domes (small domes) and the fifth above the altar were installed. In total, 7 domes with crosses were installed along with the bell tower.

In 1994, the temple was consecrated by the archbishop of Yekaterinodar and Kuban Isidor. In 1994, a Sunday school for children was opened at the church.
