The ceremonial opening of the renovated memorial complex "Mass Grave of the sailors of the warship "Fabricius" took place on May 7, 2015. On the same day, a memorial plaque was added to it with the names of the crew members of the training ship "Dnepr", which perished on October 3, 1941, south-west of Cape Bolshoy Utrish.

"Fabricius" took an active part in the transfer of marching reinforcements, provisions, fodder in the first months of the Great Patriotic War in the Black Sea. On March 2, 1942, the ship left unsecured from Novorossiysk to Kamysh-Burun, having on board 700 marching reinforcements, 6 mortars, 1200 tons of fodder, 20 horses and 12 carts. The ship was attacked by a German aircraft with special torpedoes. As a result, the torpedo hit the starboard side, killing about 10 people, including the first mate. The captain, despite the concussion, managed to wait for help and only then put the empty ship aground in the area of Bolshoy Utrish.

A new commemorative plate is dedicated to the death of the vessel "Dnepr" , which on October 3, 1941 left Novorossiysk for Sevastopol. The same evening, southwest of Cape Utrish, "Dnepr" was attacked by enemy torpedo bombers, who fired six torpedoes at it. The ship at full speed dodged five torpedoes, but one hit it in the middle, and it sank. The minesweeper who came to the rescue lifted 163 people from the water at the site of the ship's wreck. 40 people were killed.
