The monument is made in the form of a large block of sandstone with an Admiralty anchor fixed to it. A monument was erected in honor of the events that took place in June 1918. Then the crew of the destroyer, in accordance with the order of the government of the USSR, flooded the Black Sea Fleet in Novorossiysk so that it would not be captured by enemy units of Kaiser's Germany. After the operation to flood the fleet, the crew of the destroyer "Kerch" on the approach to Tuapse flooded the ship at sea abeam Cape Kadosh. The command of the destroyer "Kerch" went ashore and continued to take part in hostilities in the Red Army.

The monument to the destroyer "Kerch" was erected in 1968 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of this tragic event in the history of Russia.
