Park of Culture and Leisure named after I.M. Poddubny

Парк культуры и отдыха им И.М. Поддубного

Park of Culture and Leisure named after I.M. Poddubny is one of the oldest and largest parks in Kuban. Founded in the late 19th - early 20th centuries, it was called the "City Garden", it is over 110 years old. The park appeared here in 1931 after the transfer of the school of sea pilots to Yeisk. In the park of the aviation school or "Zagorodny" - as it became known - trees were planted and a complex of sports facilities was built: a stadium, running tracks, playgrounds.

In 1949, Ivan Poddubny was buried in the park, and the park was named after him. Also on the territory of the Park is the world's only memorial museum of the world famous wrestler.

Today it is a modern, well-maintained park, one of the favorite places for family recreation of residents and guests of the city. More than 100 species of various trees and shrubs grow on the park's area (more than 26 hectares). Every year, 30 thousand bushes of flower seedlings are planted in park beds. There are over forty amusement rides in the park.

On weekends and holidays, concerts of amateur art groups are held in the park. A year-round children's entertainment center "Chunga - Changa" has been opened especially for children in the park.
